A quality that, unlike the only previous Pinot Noir Réserve vintage 2018, was based not primarily on power and overwhelming concentration, but on finesse and precision.  And so, a year later, we crept back around that one barrique and were thrilled to see how the wine had developed. But how could one barrique of this fine Pinot possibly suffice for the whole world...? We persistently asked \"when will you finally bottle this fantastic Pinot Noir?!\" and can now present you this fantastic Saarrotwein with great joy:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e A serious bouquet with aromas of wild strawberries, cranberries, dried rose petals, undergrowth, slightly roasted walnuts and a slightly smoky-bacon note reminiscent of very good smoked bacon. The vineyard stretches spectacularly along the beautiful Wiltinger Saarbogen and takes its name from the rust-brown, iron-rich slate soil. Thanks to the warming influence of the nearby Saar River, the average temperatures here are slightly higher than in the Scharzhofberger. This leads to a slightly riper aroma spectrum with simultaneously softer acidity. These characteristics give the Le Gallais wines charm and accessibility in their youth, as their counterparts from the Scharzhofberger only show after years and decades of maturation. Initially a somewhat restrained nose with wonderfully smoky spontaneous fermentation notes from fermentation with native yeasts, which quickly give way to the typical ripe fruit aromas of the Braune Kupp with mango, fully ripe apricots, candied pineapple and some orange peel, as well as the typical \"rusty\" mineral notes of the red slate. The sheer abundance of wonderfully golden-yellow and partly shriveled grapes led to many predicates being downgraded – as happened here, because this Braune Kupp Auslese was harvested at a full 125° Oechsle, which, purely legally speaking, would easily meet the minimum requirements of a Beerenauslese. Of course, Grandmaster Egon Müller sets completely different standards, but without a doubt, the wine has the power and concentration of a Goldkapsel Auslese! Opulent aroma of candied exotic fruits such as mango, passion fruit and a hint of ginger, with hints of grilled pineapple, some raisins and finest blossom honey.
